The Downfall of American Civilization is a Bunny Named Buster

OK, now I have been calmly on hiatus; but leave it to the federal governemnt to enrage me so much as to make me need to blog whilst I am in the middle of suffering through the god dann flu (which, btws, is horrid. and I ALWAYS get a flu shot. argh)
Anyway, I turn on the news and Charlie Gibson is telling me about the anniversary of the liberation of Auswitz, and about all the genocide in Cambodia and Bosnia and Rwanda, how evil the world is. But I was resigned to that long ago. Then he has to go and tell me that the new secretary of education made PBS pull an episode of "Postcards from Buster" because while traveling to Vermont to learn about maple syrup, Buster encounters a Lesbian couple raising children.
ABC news then brought up Spongebob and some long time offenders such as Bert & Ernie and Tinky Winky.
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?!
We just finishing touching on genocide; and the next most pressing issue in the country is a cartoon's encouter w/some lesbians?
Seriously, how do we live in this country? Nevermind the fact the preschoolers can't even navigate the concept of sexual identity. I'm more concerned with the fact that that No Child Left Behind is one of the most ambitious and yet vastly underfunded pieces of legislation in American history. We don't have the money to properly fund American Schools, and our new secretary of educations big battle is with an animated bunny rabbit??? Where does Bush pull these people from, Gerry Falwells rolodex??? I just can't take it.
Sorry to get serious, I jsut needed to get that off my chest. (which is ridden with fever and influenza) so i'm going back to bed...

Annette Bening is hot. I'd totally do her.

Hey HEY hey!

Checking in with the world from The Manhattan, which has sunken to about -1,000 degrees this morning. It's totally not awesome, and I think I'm busier than is reasonable this week, but here are some points to be made:

(1) I love Harvey Fierstein.
(2) In spit of myself, I love Ben Folds. Fine. I give in.
(3) As Condoleezza Rice accepted her Secretaryship this morning (which I saw on CNN), I truly--TRULY-- for the first time wished that I could end the life of another person. Like, for real. And it didn't make me sad, because it's honestly deserved.
(4) My coworker Michael Armone just squawked at me about a gay bar I need to go to in Vegas called Gypsies. It invovled the following quote: "Once I got a taste of Gypsies, I was in for life!"
(5) http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/3347706?GT1=6065
(6) Just overheard-- Two coworkers talking. #1 says "Frank Rich looks like a dumpling." #2 says "Well, Ben Brantley looks like a zygote!" I hate my job.

Oscar Tuesday.

Mmmmmmm I'm in heaven... This is totally one of my favorite holidays, along with Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday (Observed), Mothers Day, and Arbor Day. Frankly, I resent having to come into work on such a fine occasion.

But anyway...Let's have some reactions, shall we?

(1) I never saw "Maria Full of Drugs," but that girl seems pleasant.
(2) Alan Alda is my favorite curmudgeon, even if he took David Carradine's slot.
(3) I can NOT believe Mick Jagger didn't get nominated for Best Song... What a FLIPPIN' disgrace. Do they expect Lisa Marie Presely to wear a goth hood while presenting Best Song to "Les Choristes"? I think not.
(4) I want to throw the whole music brand of the Academy into the sea, basically.
(5) "The Village" has now received more Oscar nominations that both "Kill Bill"s put together. MAN, does that make me boil.

Whatever. It's all good, ya know?? It's a lovely day here in New York, SpongeBob is gay gay gay, and most crucially...

While Condoloser Rice has been nominated for Secretary of State, she's also been nominated for the Razzie for Worst Supporting Actress for "Fahrenheit 9/11."
That is such a beautiful thing, folks. After all, what's the official motto of Kevin & Leigh's Sexy-Ass Blog?
"Hey, Condoleezza Rice. Fuck you."

WAHOO!!!!!

Vanishing Car Alert!

I am dedicating this post to my roomate Priscilla, whom you all know and and love. The poor girl leaves 85 degrees and sunshine in Hawaii, only to return to single digit temperatures and snow drifts. We went to dig out her car, only to find it was not where she parked it. Now, last year this very car was towed by the capitol police, except even after we called looking for it they claimed not to have it for 3 days, before magically locating it in a tow lot. Its Deja Vu all over again people. They may have towed the car, but they can't find it. They also may have "re-located" it for the Inauguration, but they didnt keep records of where they moved cars from or to. So it may be in the system, but if it is, no one can say for sure. How is it possible for this to happen to one person twice??? Anyway, please keep Priscilla's car in you thoughts. If you happen to see a red early 90s Jetta with Maine "conserve wildlife" plates (who answers to the name of "Ruby")-please let me know; as her owner is in a state of frenzy.

This shit is bananas.

Has everyone heard this rumor that Toby Maguire didn't attend the Golden Globes because he was too fat?? I think this needs to be commented on ASAP.

So I'm throwing snow here, which is awesome of me. If you can make out my face, please note that it's totally scrunched up and adorable. I look like a cute puppy or something. Also, I live near a police station. No one called the cops on me. Posted by Hello

Here, Kate is listening to the snowfall. Posted by Hello

OK so maybe this also isn't very wintry, but it does show that Mike's ass is scary to Priscilla and covered with hands. Posted by Hello

This picture in no way relates to today's theme of "winter," but it does show that Mike is REALLY fucking weird. Posted by Hello
