So I'm talking with a certain friend last night- A friend who might have recently come back from Vegas, let's say- and he was concerned that when his name is Googled, (or Gizoogled, if you're feeling hip), that our oh-so-incriminating blog turns up. So all traces of his name have been removed, even if his photos remain. Just wanted to explain the sudden loss of Mr. You Know Who.
I wrote the best flippin' blog yesterday, but it didn't save for some terrible TERRIBLE reason. It was basically to highlight this wonderful website, which lists Catholic saints and their special powers:
http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/patron00.htm
Catholicism is SO CREEPY. Here are some favorite saint categories (to be fair, as compiled by Kate Wilkinsex):
- against scruf
- against dying alone
- children, disappointing
- circus workers
- Communism, those who fight against it
- dauphins of France
- dog fanciers
- Equatorial Guinea
- fruit dealers
- fiddle players
- Gap (do they mean THE gap?)
- hangovers
- hatters
- iron mongers
- inter-racial justice
- jaundice
- knife sharpeners
- lame people
- lunatics
- minstrels
- nettle rash, against
- outbuildings
- people who are unattractive
- pewterers
- prostitutes, reformed
- sheds
- spasms
- spouse abuse, against (physical)
- spouse abuse, against (verbal)
- unmarried girls
- vocations, lost
- vertigo, against
- writers for television
- yachtsmen
So did everyone hear that Salma Hayek is going to gain weight and ugly up to play a serial killer?? I couldn't be more mortified. Honestly, this OBSESSION with "rewarding the deglamorized and the victimized, but only when played by beautiful, non-victims" (thanks again Kate) is MADDENING, and it will so plainly lead to the death of American screen acting. One day, when future scholars are floating around in their space-cademy, and they're writing their hyper-theses about the decline of American culture, it will all come back to the confluence of Halle Berry and Charlize Theron. DISGRACEFUL!!
I'm gonna run now. See ya later!!
KEVIN :-)
